  • Admission information :
  • Admission requirements
Applications will be considered from candidates already possessing the qualifications prescribed for entrance, and from those who expect, through examinations taken before the degree course commences, to satisfy the entrance requirements.

Candidates will be required to have satisfied both the College general entrance requirements and the course requirements prescribed for admission to their chosen degree course, normally through passes in a recognised General Certificate of Education examination. Students entering the School of Medicine must have reached the age of 18 by 1 October in the year of entry. This is due to the pattern of delivery which requires compliance with patient contact regulations in the first term.

The minimum general entrance requirements prescribed by the College are passes in a recognised General Certificate of Education examination either in:

    - two subjects at A level or
    - in one subject at A level and two subjects at AS level or
    - in four subjects at AS level.

All candidates must have a minimum English language qualification of at least grade C at GCSE or other equivalent qualification. At least grade B in English language at GCSE level is normally required for admission to the medical course. For details of acceptable English language qualifications, and the minimum grades required by the College, please go to the English language test website.

Except for courses where three specific A level subjects are required for admission, candidates offering two A levels together with two AS levels will normally be considered equally with candidates offering three A levels. Combinations including at least one AS level contrasting with other A and AS level subjects will be accepted and, in many cases, actively encouraged. Details of the minimum course requirements are given for each department separately in the academic sections.
  • Tuition and Fees :
  • Tuition fees are charged on the basis of an academic session of three terms. For certain lecture courses special fees may be charged. All tuition fees and payment terms are subject to annual revision. Information on up-to-date fee rates will be sent to all applicants in the March before the October start of session.
